N-Acetyl L-Cysteine- Why You Need To Know What It Does!
Have you heard of this? Well pay attention because it’s important.
If you have been reading my newsletter, you know I always stress the importance of cleansing and detoxing. The liver is probably the most stressed organ in most people’s bodies due to lots of environmental factors and also genetic mutations of certain enzymes that are responsible for detoxing.
N-Acetyl L-Cysteine is an amino acid that’s derived from cysteine (a non essential amino acid). It’s often called NAC and is nutritional precursor for the powerful antioxidant glutathione. Glutathione is an important antioxidant that protects your liver from intracellular damage.
I bet anyone with Lyme had blood work on their Glutathione levels, they would be in for a bad surprise, as levels would be disastrously low (just like mine were at one point). Most people who are ill with any type of disease will more than likely have very low levels….and even people with lots of stress will have low levels. This is a real energy zapper for sure and just supplementing to raise Glutathione levels improves survival rates for people with AIDs and other ghastly diseases.
Glutathione isn’t considered an essential nutrient because it’s synthesized from amino acids like L-Cysteine. So you can usually supplement with the precursors like NAC to bump up your Gluthathoine levels.
To raise Glutathione I took NAC. And I was on it for quite a while.
What does Gluthathoine do:
1. Every system in the body is effected by Gluthathoine levels. It pays a very serious role in metabolic and biochemical processes. Some systems include: NERVOUS, IMMUNE and Gastrointestinal.
2. It helps the immune system keep at its peak performance by enhancing the fighter cells and modulating them.
3. Detoxifies nasty compounds like carcinogens that we are bombarded with everyday.
4. Neutralizes free radicals- big time antioxidant.
It’s so important and that I know by exercising hard I am in the danger zone for lowering my glutathione, I’ve decided to start taking NAC again. It worked well during my Lyme ordeal so I know that it’s probably a good idea to continue the use.
What About Getting Glutathione Injections?
Some people fair very well doing this and while it’s expensive, I didn’t ever really notice a huge boost from getting this done. I have read that taking glutathione doesn’t metabolize well. So, it’s in my opinion that taking the precursor, like NAC over a continued period of time works very well.
Who Needs It?
Anyone with immune deficiency
Anyone who knows they have a glutathione deficiency
Anyone who has high oxidative stress (if you have Lyme, you do have this problem)
Anyone with pollution overload (if you have Lyme, again, you’ll have this problem)
Anyone who is athletically overtraining (yep, that probably ME)

| Black Friday Thoughts – Change Your THINKING! |
Everyone on Friday will be running out to get the latest electronic gadget or toy for those on our Christmas list and while all of that is fun (well, not driving in hordes of traffic or standing in line for hours), the greatest gift is health.
I don’t mean to get all sentimental and sappy but everyone on my Christmas list this year is getting something that will impact their health in a positive way. To me nothing is more important, especially from what I’ve gone through and I really DON ’T want anyone to have to go through what I did. And unfortunately I see friends and family members heading down that road.
Being instrumental in improving someone’s health is probably the nicest thing I can do for anyone.
If you have a friend or loved one who does have Lyme, give them the best gift you can give them to impact their health and become instrumental in their healing. When I was ill, I remember my father getting lots of different products and information and passing it on to me. It was his way of trying to help and I will be forever grateful for it. I came away with useful information and greater health.
Gift yourself coaching with me if you are sick. Or gift it to your friend or family member and become instrumental in their healing. It’s something they will never forget…because eventually that fancy electronic will become outdated, but one’s health is forever!
If you gift Lyme coaching to someone, we’ll make it a present on our end, complete with a gift card!
