Japanese Nuke Fallout- Things To Do At Home

Well, it’s been exciting to see the votes for the cover of my new book, The Tick Slayer. The results are just what I predicted…all over the place! The voting is still going on here:

www.TheTickSlayer.com/vote

Here are a few comments I have gotten and my answers:

Comment: book cover 9 shows you racing away and leaving the meds and disease behind. Illustrates the fact that 1) you’ve beat it and 2) you”re leaving it behind you. The other covers show you still connected to the disease somehow.

Answer: I’m kind of surprised so many people like this cover. I understand that it’s the symbolism behind it that people like. As far as being “connected” to the disease, I’ll always be connected to it. Even though I’ve recovered fully, I will never be able to forget what I went through, just like so many others.

Comment: I voted for number 4 because I think it has the most visual appeal, you look great and it’s a strong picture….looks like you mean business and I think it will attract everyone’s eye, it’s interesting. Picture number 9 was my second choice because the meaning is you’ve overcome it and now leave that IV bag or treatment behind (at least to me) and you are back on the track to normal life and a success! So I like the message number 9 sends. So, they are both good choices for various reasons

Answer: The bag is actually to be colored in a slightly yellowish hue to depict Vitamin C and my shoes are to be turned into a “Lyme” green color. People were confused about the bag because so many people take abx (oral or through IV). I had a number of people say, “I thought you didn’t use IV abx,” and the answer is, “I didn’t.” I did, however, use nutritional IVs and I am a HUGE proponent of the use of them. But, when it comes down to it, if you visit your local bookstore you’ll see competition is fierce and the only way to get my message out there about Lyme and what I had to do to get over it, is to STICK OUT. The cover has to be as provoking as possible. Even though the book is geared towards those who have Lyme disease, it’s actually a great read (filled with HOW-TO information) for anyone who has an autoimmune disorder. So I have to get the attention of not only the Lyme folks, but everyone else (the general population). It helps further the cause this way.

Even though inside my book there is clear message of what I did and how I did it, I think it might be good to have some confusion at first glance, because after all, there seems to be a lot of confusion on what to do about Lyme disease! That was the entire point of writing the book in the first place, but the second reason is to educate people on options and get people to understand the possibilities. Far too many people think there’s no hope. It’s a horrible state of mind to be in and it’s easy to slip into that when you don’t feel well. It’s a VERY POSITIVE book.

If you haven’t voted yet, go now: Vote on the cover!

(*Get your friends to vote, forward them this email.)

I should probably begin this header with: TOUCHDOWN!……I’m not sure why the problem isn’t being reported more, but if you take a look at this link, there is a man describing what you can already see on weather websites, which is the material from the fallout blowing over the U.S. You can see it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIzaBq5AGFU

The reason why I think it’s unreported is because the same reason why our own government is spraying particulates into the atmosphere and still leaving people guessing at what they are actually doing. So there is continued speculation about it, but the point is that if these so called “chemtrails” are supposedly slowly poisoning us, who cares about a little cesium. That’s probably their take on it.

If you are one of the people who believe by observation and current laws, that there is an overall assault on the health of most people everywhere, by people who think our world is overpopulated, you can understand that a moderate amounts of cesium high up in the atmosphere doesn’t really matter.

I personally believe in the opposite and as far as my stance on overpopulation, I think we should work hard to keep everyone SUPER healthy so we can start sending people to live in space and venture OUT for the survival of the human race if we screw up on earth. That is again left to debate, for humans MAY exist on other “earths” in the cosmos (Yes, this is actually very possible.).

The problem is that there are fallout issues with our health. Right now, nobody knows the damage the Japanese nuke plants will cause to their own people, not to mention other people in the world. There is a reason why people are buying Potassium Iodine and it’s selling out in places. There are plenty of people who have lived through these disasters who know how bad it really is (especially Europeans- think Chernobyl ).

I live in Colorado (which is not the hardest hit area thus far), but I can tell you that I have had a headache all week (and have spoken to many others who have had headaches as well). And while this could be for a number of reasons, I can also say that I only get headaches these days if I’m not hydrated (because I’m at altitude training). Staying hydrated has not made the headaches go away. I’m hoping this goes away.

Some indicators of being exposed to moderate levels of CESIUM 137 are: headaches, flu like symptoms, nausea, and even vomiting. Some people who are already sick may already be having these symptoms due to their previous conditions, but people like me, really shouldn’t be suffering from unexplained headaches. So I have my suspicions from where it’s coming from.

Anyway, my two cents (two sense) is this, it’s not going to kill you if you live in the U.S., however, if you’re sick (and this newsletter is for people who are fighting illnesses), there could be some negative effects. Things to do:

Don’t go out when it rains or snows (because that precip will be contaminated).

Keep your pets inside when it rains or snows, even then just be aware that radioactive material STAYS in the ground.

Make sure your iodine levels are solid.

Take potassium

Take specific nutrients which allow your body to cope and detox such harmful particulates

High Quality Aloe (ALOE, ALOE, ALOE)- the good stuff.

Kelp

Chorella *don’t take if you have amalgam fillings

Wheat grass(plant a few pots inside)- good for you, good for your pets and easy to grow. Just buy winter wheat berries in bulk (at most local health food stores), put the seeds you plan to plant in a jar filled with warm water and let it sit on the counter until you see them sprout a little, now plant these seeds in a shallow pot by just slightly pressing them into the soil, and make sure you water it daily! It’s hard to mess this up.

Wear counter frequencies on your body that nullify the effects of such environmental toxins – Yes, frequencies do this. The geomagnetic cards I’ve written about, now carry the frequencies that do and they are also good to wear daily due to the “chemtrail” issue. Chemtrails are supposed to be predominantly nano particles of aluminum, barium, etc. Spraying is thought to increase the intensity of electromagnetic smog. What this means is that on a cellular level, it has no good HEALTH inducing effects. It’s the opposite and obviously this can be a very lengthy topic of conversation.

Just to let everyone know, I do everything above except eating Kelp. I’ve just been lazy going to the store to get some.

My old and very moody stray, Charlie(saurus), loves his wheatgrass!

Okay, this isn’t the enzyme newsletter! That newsletter will go out next week. It’s a goodie and I’ve decide to take some more time on it, but I did want to talk about something I feel is still important to the healing process for anyone who finds themselves chronically ill.

Well at some point I was going to have to write about this because I just finished my metal detox. I will probably do more metal cleansing next year, but I have had really good results going the easy and natural “easy” route first. I never DETOX while I’m racing or training hard. However, a few times a year when I get a break I do these “maintenance” things to keep my systems from breaking down.

After all, as some of you know, I train VERY hard and I also have EBV (Epstein Barr, which like many viruses, you never actually get rid of them) and have previously had Chronic Fatigue, Lyme and multiple co-infections, bizarre pathogens of various types (ones that the medical world says are “not common”)…not to mention an overly toxic system (previous bouts of good old fashion autoimmune dysfunction.

Keeping nutrients high is vital, not just for ill people, but people who are taxing their system on a daily basis via work or physical stress.

Chlorella is considered a nutrient, but it’s a food. It’s primarily used as a way of detoxing metals and since people with chronic illness all have some type of heavy burden of metals in their system, it’s always good to take a look at what this protocol involves and why taking chlorella makes for a really good nutrient to add to your Lyme weapon list.

Reasons Why You Should Take Chlorella:

Antiviral (especially effective against the cytomegaly virus from the herpes family)

Toxin Binding (mucopolysaccharide membrane) all known toxic metals, environmental toxins such as dioxin and others – IT’S BASICALLY A MOP!

Repairs and activates the body’s detoxification functions

Dramatically increases reduced glutathione – THIS IS A GOOD ONE!

Sporopollein is as effective as cholestyramin in binding neurotoxins and more effective in binding toxic metals than any other natural substance found.

Lipids (12.4%) alpha-and gamma-linoleic acid help to balance the increased intake of fish oil during our detox program and are necessary for a multitude of functions, including formation of the peroxisomes.

Methyl-coblolamine is food for the nervous system, restores damaged neurons and has its own detoxifying effect.

The porphyrins in chlorophyll have their own strong metal binding effect. Chlorophyll also activates the PPAR-receptor on the nucleus of the cell which is responsible for the transcription of DNA and coding the formation of the peroxisomes (see fish oil), opening of the cell wall (unknown mechanism) which is necessary for all detox procedures, normalizes insulin resistance and much more. Medical drugs that activate the PPAR receptor (such as pioglitazone) have been effective in the treatment of breast and prostate cancer.

Super nutrient: 50–60% amino acid content, ideal nutrient for vegetarians, methylcobolamin — the most easily absorbed and utilized form of B12, B6, minerals, chlorophyll, beta carotene etc.

Immune system strengthening

Restores bowel flora – I WOULD STILL USE OTHER SOURCES FOR THIS ISSUE (see my gut newsletter here).

Digestive Aid (bulking agent) – kind of like physillium husks

Alkalinizing agent (Important for patients with malignancies) – PH BALANCING

The Metal Detox Using Chlorella

A lot of people like the metal detox protocol that uses Chlorella and Cilantro. The cilantro acts as a mobilizer of mercury and other common metals from tissues, bones and the nervous system. I also started eating a lot of organic bunches of parsley from the store. I just washed and ate! Parsley also acts as a mobilizer of metals. I actually craved it during this time.

** Taking cilantro tea is a nice little helper with brain fog issues associated with the build up of ammonia.

Chlorella is the “mop.” It HAS to be taken when you are using Cilantro, because Cilantro helps the release of the stored items and you want to MOP them up and not have them just “move around.”

Chlorella types are C. Pyreneidosa and C. Vulgaris. C. Pyreneidosa is the preferred kind because it’s better at getting the metals, but is harder on the stomach. I’ve already hinted at the importance of getting the digestive system to FIRE UP and work properly.

I like this Chlorella HERE, which is C. Pyrenoidosa and has a nice, 55.2% protein and 80% nutrient rich cytoplasm. It’s what I’ve been using for my own personal metal detoxing.

I already take a lot of fatty acids. I love coconut oil and fish oil and have already written about using them liberally for daily use. And I also take Beta Glucan (this kind here contains a potent form of allicin). If you read through Dr. Klinghardt’s metal detox protocol here:

http://www.hbci.com/~wenonah/new/9steps.htm , you’ll see that he also talks about using a potent form of garlic and using fish oils. Please follow the link and take a look at the dosage amounts for the chlorella and cilantro there.

I’m very happy to see that he’s also written about using electrolytes (Do you have signs of an electrolyte imbalance? Check here.) If you want to know more about the science of electrolytes and why they are so vital, click here.

I think we are on the same page here, because those who have been getting my newsletter for a while now KNOW that I always talk about balancing your electrolytes and how it’s CRUCIAL to recovery. You should also know that when you do a metal removal detox, you must be putting back what you’re losing and many people who have Lyme and other autoimmune diseases are already in a very deficient state. So if your doctor wants to detox you first, before you go the DMPS route or even if you want to do the at home natural route with Chlorella and Cilantro, you better make DARN sure you’re replacing vitamins, minerals and electrolytes! I will say this million times. It was a very hard lesson for me to learn while I was recovering and probably extended the time of my recovery quite significantly.

Dr. K mentions two brands. While they are better than nothing, I don’t believe they are a better bet than they ones I’ve been taking for two years. One comes in a powdered form and the processing of creating medical grade electrolytes (to ensure that the electrical potential is there- the entire point of electrolytes) is that when they are being processed they are made in liquid form. The other product he mentioned is in liquid form and one gallon of it is $120 dollars. I’m sure he probably just doesn’t know about the taste ones here. I’m just happy that he’s talking about it! I always was told that my vagal vesey syncope was just an athlete thing.

Word of caution about METAL DETOXING

Have your silver fillings removed in your mouth first! If you’re taking MSM, you may want to back off of it while taking Chlorella BECAUSE they both have high mercury mobilizing “skillz.” ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid) is also something you may want to back down on a little because it’s good at detoxing the brain and mobilizing toxins of various sorts. Too many detoxing efforts at the same time can have you feeling ILL. I know you’re anxious, but you have to do things properly to recover from serious ailments!

I should also mention that Chlorella is high in iron, so have your iron checked. For women, it may not be a big deal, probably quite a huge added health benefit! I’ve fussed about having your iron checked in previous newsletters (Check this next newsletter for a truly awesome way for beating anemia quickly and restoring levels!). For men who already have high iron (doubt it, if you’re sick), you should only use Chlorella for detoxing purposes.

It’s best to ease into it. This is coming from someone who is recovered from Lyme and my first couple of days doing this metal detox had me vomiting. I think I waited too late to eat that first day and when I vomited it looked like chlorella mixed with darker material (metals?)…. if I had made sure I was eating on schedule that day, it wouldn’t have happened. You might even feel a pulling in your brain a little when you start taking chlorella, so ease into it.

Some of you may know about this and some may not. I just posted in on my FB account: http://www.facebook.com/tickslayer

As many of you already know, I generally try to stay out of things like this. I usually don’t take either side, because I think everyone is full of it. But all of these “regulations” coming down to save us from what, I don’t know, is absurd and it starts getting me upset when it involves freedom of health care and what we as Americans should have the right to choose. The way this new codex goes is that food that is grown in a way that is “not regulated” cannot be sold. So farmer’s markets, food co-ops, growing food in your back yard of farm and trying to sell it will all be regulated. Then they will send agents out to make sure everyone complies. Can you imagine having food grown in your back yard regulated? What’s next?

The regulations will tell you what kind of spray to use (pesticides, which is odd for educated Tick Slayers who know how bad they really are), among other things, like shutting down a way of life for many people. Growing food and selling it is a historic way of making a living and is a God given right! If I want to go buy raw milk and heirloom tomatoes from seeds that are not genetically modified and pesticide free from farmer John, I better darn well be able too. Farmer John better not get into any trouble either! This comes down to certain things that I DO and have a right to do that keep me healthy along with many other people.

Some people complain about the costs of supplements and they are already going up because the labs who test these products to ensure quality are getting hit by the government for more testing, driving up the costs to the retail end.

I recently read from a lady who has her ear to the ground on all news say this, “In Europe countless people have taken seminars where they have learned to grow and process their own herbs. You need to buy the how to books and seeds and get cracking because you never know what is going to happen. You might also put aside the idea that you cannot produce anything with significant medicinal potency. In reality, you can make better and safer medicine yourself than Big Pharma produces.” She is not an alarmist, but she is an herbalist and a very good one!

If this gets you upset, all we can do right now is make sure we are heard. Take a minute and go to this link. Just tell your senators to get a grip! Don’t get mad, just voice your concern and hopefully democracy is still well and alive in this country.

Then send it to all your friends.

I’ve written about my use of detoxing footbaths and how important I believe them to be. There are several ways to remove toxins from your feet and the reason why it’s important is because anytime you can “free up” stored toxins in your body, the lesser the burden on your immune system.

Read my entire newsletter on footbaths: http://dietickdie.com/ionic-foot-baths-cleanse/

Toxins can pool in the feet, probably due to gravity. I’ve done clay footbaths (usually with bentonite clay) to help pull out some of these toxins, but since I got a ionic footbath, I’ve been using that as the predominant method. I’m doing what I consider maintenance since I’ve been recovered for several years now. I do this ionic footbath once a week, but not more.

One of the main reasons why I started doing the footbaths is because my heavy metal count was high. It was tested back in 2007 and showed signs of elevated mercury, lead and aluminum, among several other metals. I never addressed the metals issue at that time because I had more pressing problems such as major gut problems including cryptosporidium. For example, anytime you pull out metals using DMPS or EDTA, you can cause irritation to your elimination pathways, which includes the gut. After a few chelating IVs, I decided to focus on other efforts and I went quite far in my recovery without addressing metals.

But since I know that it’s an issue that I had to deal with at some point, I decided to start chelating via Chorella/Cliantro and increasing my intake of particular fats like coconut oil (good for everything and everyone) and Omega 3, 6 and 9.

Chorella is great supplement and is really considered a food. I’ll write more about it in another newsletter. During my three weeks of metal removal while on my training/running break, I did my footbath once a week. You can’t detox when you’re training hard or when you’re seriously depleted due to illness.

I’ve read that you cannot use the color chart that accompanies many footbaths, due to the different types of particulates in the water depending on location of the individual, but also due to the salt coming into contact with the metal plates which erodes the plates with continued use of the footbath. “Black” is the color associated with metals. My footbaths always had a deep black color, but after just three weeks of my metal detox, I noticed the black color not showing up as strongly.

Part of the reason why people don’t like the footbaths is because it’s hard to measure how efficient they really are. I think some models are obviously way better than others. I’ve used models that didn’t change the color of the water at all and the one I use currently turns the water all different colors depending on the individuals. I’m more than happy with the kind I use here (click on link).

It was an interesting observation, one I wanted to share.

I plan on staying on my metal removal plan up until I start training again. It really depends on how bad your levels are when it comes to duration of a metal chelating program and what type of program you should embark on. Another important factor with metal removal is that you cannot do it when you are beaten down so badly. Slowly working on the problem with all natural methods first is what I consider the best approach.

It also helps that I’m doing yoga currently, which contains poses that are called “inversions” (think standing on your head), which I believe pressure washes the insides of the head, helping your metal removal protocol get into the brain area better.

IMPORTANT: I’ve heard horror stories of people chelating so hard right when they become sick with Lyme disease that subsequently they get very ill. Just recently I was coaching a girl who had metal chelation as a first round of treatment in her quest to rid herself of Lyme disease and was badly beaten down from the intensity of the protocol which her healthcare providers wanted her to do.

I’m a believer in that you don’t have to get way worse before you get better, unless perhaps you have a major emotional trauma in the past you’ve been holding onto that comes out while you’re shedding yourself of all things unhealthy. That would be kind of like me, which I’ve written about in The Tick Slayer.

It’s very important to have a good balance with treatment and know that for bad cases you’ll be working on the problem for a while. It’s a journey, one that will change you for the best if you allow it do so.

I opened a new Facebook account just recently. I had to do it. I’m trying to keep the line between my personal life and my Lyme life. (No pun intended on the movie.) I’ve noticed that many people use Facebook to vent their feelings about having Lyme. This can be just as damaging as going to forums online where people like to pass the dread around.

I know people deal with challenges differently. My sister and I are a good examples of that. She likes to vent verbally and I vent by going to exercise. It’s good to get out the anger because keeping it in can be poison to your health, but I don’t like the passing around of ill sentiments of any kind. When I was sick, I withdrew from most people I knew for several reasons. One was to focus on myself and block out a lot of the anger stuff I kept finding online about Lyme disease. The other reason is that I didn’t want to have to tell people how bad I felt. It was important for me to get it out in other ways. Telling people how bad you feel isn’t a positive thing. It just a continuum of sorts for the illness.

The point is because I’ve been receiving and seeing so many anger sessions about Lyme, I’m splitting my personal account and having one for just Lyme.

This is for people with Lyme and other autoimmune diseases to discuss the possibilities and to keep each other informed about what’s helpful out there. I’ll also be giving updates on the Tick Slayer and my whereabouts as I prepare for the World Championships and Olympics in 2011 and 2012. It will be a great meet up place for online social networking.

It’s a positive place with encouragement and ideas! Nothing more.

This week’s newsletter will be quick! I had a very good question someone asked me this week. She was telling me that her daughter who is recovering from Lyme has not had much of an appetite.

Q: “She tells me she is not very hungry most of the day. She doesn’t feel like eating breakfast and lunch. I usually give her some breakfast but she says she feels stuffed after eating it. She says she has felt like this for about a year. I hadn’t noticed, but mainly she can’t take her pills on an empty stomach. I don’t want her to get run down or become deficient in nutrients. I know she wants to lose weight, but I don’t know if this is why she is not hungry. Any comments?”

A: Yes, I have some ideas. It’s summer and I’ve noticed I don’t eat much either. It’s
probably 100 degrees in SC now, not a bad thing if she isn’t that hungry right now.

Focus on eating just foods that are full of nutrients like: a tablespoon of Chia seeds, psyllium husk in water to get fiber in, eating berries, freezing grapes and eating them to cool off, eating mostly veggies, maca or raw coca, drinking teas and making sure to eat lean protein once a week. If her digestion is really weak, eating soups (veggies cooked down) is great, although sometimes difficult in the summer.

When you are fighting infection, your body needs all of its energy. It takes energy to digest food…LOTS OF IT. If she focuses on just eating the nutrient dense things, this is a good thing. She needs to keep supplementing also.

Getting the right nutrition is very important.

If you notice yourself slowing down with the eating, it’s okay. During summer months you might notice yourself eating more fruits and veggies and not wanting to digest hardy meals. This is natural for everyone, but the only real reason why someone who is ill might have a hard time eating, is usually because of the inability to digest foods (which is why supplementing with enzymes is important) or just because it takes energy to digest foods and the body needs its energy in other places.

I sometimes lose my appetite when training, which is a sign of overtraining. If my body is tired then it’s sometimes becomes hard to be in the mood to eat anything. This is when I force myself to eat nutritious things and then I get plenty of solid rest.

Here are a few food items I think are essential for anyone’s pantry (ESPECIALLY when dealing with an illness):

Chia seeds (you can buy them in bulk and take a tablespoon of them each day for quick nutrition)

Maca-Raw Coca powder (put a little teaspoon in your smoothie!)

Aloe concentrate (a tablespoon of this a day goes a long way and you can also put them in smoothies…nothing on the market compares to the enzymatic activity and energy of this product! Read the newsletters here about using this aloe concentrate juice!)

Flax meal (good in yogurt, good in smoothies and I put a few tablespoons in my pizza crust or baked goods)

Coconut Oil ( eat a tablespoon a day or cook liberally with it!)

Ghee butter (cook with it, very nutrient dense)

Green Tea Extract (put a little in a smoothie OR just put a little in boiling water to make tea)- Read about the benefits of using this here!

Yerba Mate (highly antioxidant beverage)

Brewer’s Yeast (high in B vitamins and other nutrition, get the flakes, not the powder, as the flakes are easier to eat by the tablespoon, while the powder will just stick to your teeth)

Psyillum Husks (high in fiber, a couple of tablespoons a day in 8-12 oz of water, drink quickly before it congeals)

Shilajit (I’m exploring with this, but it’s an ayurvedic herb that is good for detoxing).

Excuse me one second, I have to go to my kitchen to see what else I want to mention….

Okay, some other foods I really like (staples during any season):

Wild rice (buy different kinds, try the black wild rice varaieties that are slighty sweet)

Chorella (get it in bulk here) (good for everything and is highly dense with nutrients)

Green drink ( I like this one because of what’s mixed in it, find out here) (main ingredient should be either Wheat Grass or Barley Grass)

Frozen fruits for the freezer (buy items like bananas or berries this summer when they are cheap, wash them and make gallon size mixes for quick smoothies at anytime)

Quinoa (a South American grain, high in protein)

Organic chicken broth (just add seasonal veggies like Chard and mushrooms)

Coconut milk (great to cook with and is high in good fats and good energy calories)

Dried herbs of all types (during the summer I try to grow my own fresh ones, it’s easy, you just add water a few times a week)

Miso soups ( you can get the real deal by venturing out to the natural food store and in the refrigerator section they will have a container of fermented miso soup, just add a dolap to boiling water and you have INSTANT miso soup) *If you are sensitive to soy, don’t eat it or you might pay dearly!

These are just some examples. I’m also a big fan of raw milk and cheese unless you are intolerant to them. I would suggest getting RAW milk and cheese. The least amount of processing for your food, the better it will be for you!

It’s a pain to change your way of eating when you’re ill, but if you make baby steps in the right direction, it becomes a wonder why you never made the switch earlier in life! When you’re ill, you just have to make these types of changes. Going and eating out or eating convenience foods just won’t cut it. I hope by giving you a glimpse into my pantry that you’ll understand that I really do practice what I preach and hopefully you will find the same benefits in these foods that I do.

See Ya Later, Tick Slayer!
