In many states, spring is in the air! I’ve noticed that it’s the time of year people start working in their yards and this is when they start using herbicides and pesticides in and around their homes. Many of you already know the dangers of using these agents, but I have a few suggestions to make sure that you can keep your family (including your beloved pets) safe. It’s probably even more important to avoid these agents if you or a loved one has a compromised immune system.
In this country, when using dangerous chemicals, we say things like: it will kill the roaches but your cat will be fine, OR it will be OK if you’re exposed to small doses, OR it doesn’t exceed the EPA limit of X part per million so we are safe. The real problem is that saying X part per million (or even billion) of something like Arsenic is safe in small amounts is ridiculous as there IS NO SAFE LEVEL! So we continue to drink our water unfiltered and we shower in chlorinated water (because we think that only people who are ill will be susceptible), but it’s only a matter of time before continued use of certain agents make us all sick (even if we aren’t currently ill).
We are chemically addicted in this country and while some of these agents can be helpful, there is almost always an alternative that can be used.
This spring if you have a problem with pests, I highly suggest you find alternatives and give it a good go. If you have to use pesticides go with a company that is certified to use these chemicals and has strict guidelines that their employees adhere too. Never hire “local boys” to spread hazardous chemicals!
Anything that is sprayed around your home will make its way inside your home. You can track it in on your shoes and clothes and your pets will bring it inside also (never mind that many chemicals travel through the air once sprayed). If you wouldn’t consume it or breathe it, I would think twice before using it.
Even if your home is greener than your neighbors, for the sake of your own health, your children’s and pet’s health, I would help my neighbor find alternatives and explain the situation as whatever your neighbor uses will also find its way to your home as well. About 3 years ago my neighbor sprayed for “tree roaches” in their yard and around their house, killing several birds, a squirrel, and my cat (who I think was exposed to their monthly sprayings before finally taking on a deadly amount). Meanwhile, I was terribly ill with Lyme Disease and having my own issues with my immune system and for most nights my cat came inside to sleep with me. It was a horrific ordeal and one that made me quite angry. The worst part is that the house was rented and the yard maintenance was taken care of by some locals, no professionals and they were spraying odorless pesticides (meaning the neighbors didn’t even know they were being exposed as it went undetected).
It may not have been enough to kill me, but it did make me sick and gave me yet another toxin to process. Anyone with Lyme is already full of waste created by the bacteria and also the die-off of bacteria (not to mention all of the day to day pollution we come into contact with).
My suggestions for a healthy home this spring:
- Minimize or eliminate all pollution as much as possible. (It’s part of the healing process and the quicker you do it the easier it will be to get healthy
- Get an RO unit under your sink or for your entire house like this: Reverse Osmosis Units (there is also another type of water filter that goes on top of your counter with no installation, I don’t have it yet, but I’m going to try this one out, Countertop Water Filtering System )
- If you don’t have an RO unit for your entire house then get one for just your kitchen sink and get a shower filter like this: Ultimate Shower Filter (click on this link to learn about how your shower is actually like a poison gas chamber)
- Get an ozone machine to clean the air in your house 30 minutes to an hour a day (if it ozonates water, that’s huge, drink a few glasses a day), get one like this: Ozone Unit
- Null harmful frequencies that chemicals emit (not a new concept, but new to many people), using a frequency tube like this: Frequency Water Tube , can be used in conjunction with a water filter to micro-cluster water, but to also null any harmful frequencies in the water you drink. The battle for health is a battle against helpful and harmful frequencies. See my newsletter about this at: Frequency For Healing
- Open up windows on opposite sides of your house to clear out any indoor air pollutants
- Get a HEPA filter on your AC system
| Track and Field Update |
Well, it’s been about a week since the USA Indoor Track and Field Championships in New Mexico. I unfortunately did not make the World Championship team, but I think many people thought I was crazy to have started real training for this last October (after my 5 year break due to Lyme) and then expect to be at the top. Well, the truth is YES, I did expect to make it, so maybe I am crazy. Unfortunately I pushed, pushed, pushed with my training and racing (every weekend) until I got a fever on Monday (5 days prior to my race). All my symptoms have cleared up (and never fully materialized into what I think was a cold that has been passed around here, but was just enough to throw me off balance when racing really hard) and what I needed was the one thing I didn’t give myself, REST.
Some people wonder why they don’t get over Lyme disease and I can relate it to what I just did. I was doing all of the necessary things I talk about in my newsletters to keep up my “health maintenance” but I didn’t slow down. Had I just rested a little more I would have given myself exactly what my body needed. You must do all things that are available to you to get healthy, you cannot just select a few things to “try out” and dismiss the rest as this is an all out situation for most people who are ill. And for those who do think they do everything, it’s probably the lack of a substantial plan that may be the missing link.
So now with training for the Outdoor season ( the much larger/longer season, as some athletes skip the Indoor season due to climate issues usually), I will make sure I don’t do this again. I guess I got a little overzealous and was perhaps too excited about the idea of causing such an upset. Still it was a huge comeback thus far, one to be very proud of even though I’m still a little sore about the results last weekend.
| Strange Symptoms Have “Cures” |
If I can get back to one of the hardest sports out there (in what’s considered to be the hardest event(s) in that sport), I believe anyone can entertain the thoughts of a full recovery and a return to a normal life.
Just last week, before my race, I got an email from a girl I coached last year. She wrote,
“Go kick some butt Perry. I am doing great. Going out to Co. to go skiing in a couple of weeks. Couldn’t have done it without your guidance. I feel like I am getting my life back and it is amazing. Thanks for being such an inspiration. I tell everyone about you. Buena Suerte, Beth”
Beth is an avid skier and felt so bad that she couldn’t do it. She was so sick. Now she’s back skiing again. Skiing can be tough so congratulations to Beth for getting back to it!
Sometimes people I coach feel so bad that they think there are issues that are beyond their control. It’s easy to fall into this mindset when you can’t control your body and everything hurts, but the truth is besides my own turn around, many of the people I’ve coached have each had their own amazing turn around and all kinds of bizarre issues and complaints go away. Sometimes it just takes a little elbow grease and doing the right things to get yourself back to normal.
I am a full believer that you can turn around anything. Since last year, I’ve seen way too many people make their own “amazing” comebacks and there are many more that are on their way. Everything from neuropathy, to severe fatigue (the kind that keeps you in bed), to the worst cases of fibromyalgia/arthritis and severe psychosis (which is a tendency when you have Lyme). It’s not the doom and gloom that I came across back in 2005 when I first found out I had chronic Lyme disease (among other illnesses).
You should realize that the possibilities are quite endless and you should never be afraid of going for it (all out); you might lose a few battles but you will win the war. The most important thing for most of us is to go back to a normal healthy life, but it can’t be done unless you go for it.

Hi, and thanks for a great blog!
Any experience with the Beck Protocol?
From Perry:
Beck Protocol makes sense. I haven’t spoken to people who have used this and believe they are cured; however all the concepts are right. I think for more poeple with chronic situations will need MORE than just this, but on the flipside doing these things on your own can be very helpful. Silver, I believe is more of a anti-viral, which is going to help the LYme situation because with bacteria comes all of these other issues that need to be addressed (viral pathogens, mold, fungus, etc.)
As far as magentic pulsing…I think there are way better options than that and personally don’t have the experience with using it. I got over Lyme without this method.
Read my newsletter on Ozonated water/air/enemas in this blog, because I’m obviously a big fan of using ozone. It can be dangerous, but on the other hand it can be used theraputically. I have this ozone machine.
Electrical micro-currents- I think this falls into the same category as rife for the most part. I think it’s very important to implement this type of therapy into your LYME PLAN.
Hi perry
Was rife part of your treatment and how do you feel about this technology?
Thanks
