I hope this email finds you well.
This will be a quick newsletter as tomorrow I’ll be heading out to Colorado Springs for altitude training. I’ll be exactly 4 blocks from the Olympic Training Center and staying with a classmate of mine from West Point. I even have a few training partners lined up while I’m out there.
Just recently I had a doctor contact me and he was telling me that he thought my background in athletics helped me with my recovery from Lyme Disease. Well, I told him I agreed, but my mental state was probably more of the reason for my success. Finding answers to all of my questions surrounding my situation and my desire to be 100% again were why I got back to this happy place. Many people don’t really realize that I had become emaciated, thin as a rail, and as fragile as a 100 year old woman.

First Long Run Of The Season
Training in the rain! If I look exhausted, it’s not Lyme related…I just ran 7 miles (fast) through mud.
When it comes to fitness, you lose a good 80% of your fitness if you don’t work out for two weeks. Elite athletes almost never take more than a week off when they are in the middle of training. And when we get some time off at the end of the year, which is usually a month, starting back up is just as difficult as it would be had we not worked out in months.
I know I’ve written this in newsletters before, but you HAVE to have physical goals. You must condition your body to withstand disease, VIRUSES, and other cooties. If you have to start walking 5 minutes a day, do it. That was actually a goal of mine years ago, just to walk 5 minutes in one day. You have to start somewhere, so get going.
This brings me to another topic and it’s ripe for discussion….
As you know I have mentioned earlier that I will write a newsletter about the herbs I think are most beneficial for putting the assault on Lyme. The assault is not just from using compounds (chemical or natural) but getting your body to respond to the infection and attack it back.
Most people with disease need serious immune system support.
Almost every blood test I look at there is a serious problem with white blood cells like:
Neutrophils, Lymphocytes (B and T cells), and Monocytes.
Sometimes the biggest problem with taking antibiotics is not just the problems that start in the gut, but also the fact that these agents are rendering white blood cells incapacitated and unable to do their job.
Eventually to be “Lyme Free” and to live 100% normally, you’re going to have to train your body to deal with infections (Lyme being just another problem).
A lot of products proclaim to pump up your T cells and or even B cells. This is great; however the communicator cells are really Macrophages and Neutrophils (noticeably low on every blood test from a person with Lyme Disease and probably so with any person with any type of disease).
Here’s a cool video animation of a macrophage ingesting bacteria (this is how a healthy body functions): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KiLJl3NwmpU
The communicator cells are like Generals or other officers telling the troops how to attack and what to attack!
Now during my illness I took Beta Glucan nonstop to pump up the “communication” because I knew I had some problems with immunity and I knew what my pathetic blood tests were looking like.
Beta Glucan is known for pumping up the immune system (“modulating it”). But looking back I was probably taking a bunch of garbage (but something was better than nothing). After all there are many kinds of Beta Glucan (soluble vs. insoluble) and then there is the issue of where the Glucan is harvested.
I’ve been suggesting to some people I’ve coached to try a new type of Beta Glucan (harvested from tree fungi) and it is the insoluble kind…..the good kind. So far I’ve had very good reports and I have put myself back on this as well. The reason for my doing so is for several reasons:
1) the flu going around and I don’t want it,
2) I’m training hard and I want to continue training hard,
3) and this has the potential of helping me run faster with less effort.
If my immune system is “fierce”, then more of my body is freed up to take care of the processes that help me perform. I’ve been noticing this turn around quite significantly, but I want to continue on this path.
Native American Sacramental Medicine
The 1-3 Beta Glucan (3 Beta D Glucans) I discovered is harvested from cone bearing trees by Native Americans. (It literally is a very powerful tree fungus.) Furthermore it creates a pan-systemic modulation of T-Cells when ingested. The viability of these particular cells is increased by as much as 4000% within 20 hours after taking this type of Glucan, called Tsiag-ha.
It also contains (probably) the highest source of germanium in nature. Germanium is an oxygen catalyst and one of the most powerful free-radical scavengers found in nature.
It’s quite literally good for everything from Chronic Fatigue to Fungal Infections, Platelet Recovery to Auto-Immune Diseases, and even Bacterial Infections. Read about more uses here.
The product is called “Defense” and not only does it contain this awesome Tsiag-ha “herb” a potent Beta Glucan, but it also contains Black Cumin, Muscadine, Allicin (the heart of Garlic) and Stablized Rice Bran.
Why this mixture is so powerful?
Well besides being able to increase T Cells as much as 4000% within 20 hours, reduces pain and inflammation substantially.
Black Cumin inhibits infections and can reduce allergies by 90%.
Muscadine is full of antioxidants more powerful than any berry on earth.
Stablized Rice Bran contains essential fatty acids, trace minerals, amino acids, PhytoNutrients, glyconutrients, and over ninety powerful antioxidants.
And Allicin (the Heart of Garlic) reduces blood pressure, kills microscopic organisms, poisonous bacteria, parasites and fungal infections, aids in preventing neoplasm, reduces high blood cholesterol, removes heavy metals and other toxins, scavenges and removes free radicals, repairs immune system cells by providing high sulfur compounds, and increases blood circulation.
**(I believe many forward Lyme docs are starting to put their patients on Allicin because of the properties of this substance- it’s STRONG and GOOD for you. At the L.I.A. conference one of the vendors was promoting the uses of Allicin for people with Lyme).
…and Allicin is one of the compounds I used during my illness.
The Defense formula contains over 90,000,000 molecules of this specialized Beta Glucan in every serving. No other single source comes close.
I truly believe this is something people should start taking no matter what stage of “the fight” you’re in. And I would take it with this aloe so as to absorb it as best as possible because taking your supplements with aloe will help absorption.
